JobGuard Pro Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
In short: your jobs and your clients’ details belong to you. We keep them only to run JobGuard, we never sell them, and you can download or delete them at any time.
Who we are
JobGuard Pro (“JobGuard”) is an app for contractors and trades, made by Techiecup Solutions Inc. in Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information JobGuard keeps, why, and the choices you have. It covers the app and the signing page at jobguard.expo.app. We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA). We do not sell personal information, and JobGuard has no ads and no tracking.
Information we keep
When you (a contractor) use JobGuard:
- Account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form; nobody can read them, including us.
- Business details you enter: business name, phone, email for e-Transfers and HST number.
- Job details you enter: job name, address, dates, contract price, payment stages and payments received.
- Your clients’ details you enter: name, phone, email and the job address.
- Change orders: descriptions, prices, time impact, payment requests and payments.
- Signatures: the drawn signature, the signer’s typed name, the date and time, and whether it was signed on your phone or from a signing link.
- Phone notifications: if you allow them, a push address for your phone so we can tell you when a client signs.
Our hosting providers also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, device type and time of a request) for security and to fix problems. These are kept for a short time and are not used to track you. JobGuard does not access your location, contacts, camera, photos or microphone.
If you are a contractor’s client
If a contractor sends you a signing link, you can review and sign one change order without an account. Your typed name, your signature and the time you signed are saved to that contractor’s JobGuard account, as their record of your approval. The contractor decides what client details to enter and is responsible for their relationship with you. For questions about your information, contact the contractor first. You can also email us at info@jobguardpro.ca and we will help.
How we use it
- To run JobGuard: save your jobs and change orders, make PDFs and spreadsheets, and show your totals and reminders.
- To let your client sign from a link and to notify you on your phone when they do.
- To send account emails you ask for, like password resets.
- To keep JobGuard secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who can see it
Each contractor’s data is private to their own account. The database enforces this, so one contractor can never see another’s jobs, clients or signatures. A signing link only shows the one change order it was made for. It works for 30 days and stops working once that change order is signed. We look at account data only when you ask us for help, to keep JobGuard secure, or when the law requires it.
Where it’s stored and the services we use
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run JobGuard. They may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: our database and logins. Your data is stored in Canada (Canada Central region).
- Expo: builds the app, hosts the signing page and delivers phone notifications.
- Apple (and Google, for Android): deliver phone notifications to your device.
Some of these providers may process information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. A notification contains a short message such as the client’s name, the change order title and the amount.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open, so your signed records stay available as proof. When you delete your account, your account and everything in it are erased from our live database right away. Any backup copies are overwritten within 30 days. Technical logs are deleted on their normal short schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Download your data: in the app, go to More › Download my data to get an Excel file of all your jobs, change orders and payments.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to More › Delete my account. This permanently erases your account and all its data. You can also ask us to delete it by emailing info@jobguardpro.ca from your account email. See Delete your account.
- Correct your data: you can edit your business details and unsigned items in the app. Signed change orders are locked so they stay reliable proof; contact us if something needs fixing.
- Notifications: you can turn them off at any time in your phone’s Settings.
- Access or questions: email info@jobguardpro.ca. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
If you’re not happy with how we handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, each account can reach only its own data, and signed change orders can’t be edited or removed. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your phone locked.
Children
JobGuard is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
